January:

Ice Bowl in Paradise (C-tier), Chavez Ridge DGC, Los Angeles – Sat., Jan. 23, 2016 – Ice Bowl tournaments are held all across the U.S. in January and February, raising funds and awareness for local food banks and other social service charities. The Chavez Ridge Ice Bowl has kicked off the SoCal Points Series for the last several years and is also part of the Golden Sombrero Series of Ice Bowls. February:

37th Annual Wintertime Open (Am weekend, B-tier), Oak Grove DGC, Pasadena – Sat/Sun Feb. 13-14, 2016. The Wintertime Open is the longest-running disc golf tournament in Southern California and probably the west coast. A great chance to play Oak Grove in its tournament set-up. Yucaipa Amateur Challenge (C-tier), Yucaipa Regional Park, Yucaipa – Sat/Sun March 19/20, 2016. Yucaipa Regional Park has one of the best disc golf layouts in SoCal.   TD. – Kevin Beath (909.557.7659,). Online registration available here.

One Night Stand @ Verdugo Hills (C-tier), Verdugo Hills Golf Course, Tujunga – Sat March 26, 2016. Nighttime 2-round tournament at the Verdugo Hill Golf Course – nighttime golf is fun! April:

The Challenge @ Goat Hill Park – Presented by Innova (C-tier), Goat Hill Park, Oceanside – Sat/Sun, April 2/3, 2016. Central Coast Throwdown Presented by Fox Tower DNA (C-tier), Whale Rock DGC, Paso Robles – Sat, April 9, 2016. 2nd Annual King of the Mountain (Am-only, C-tier), Mountain Pride Park, Murrieta – Sat, April 16, 2016. SoCal Jam ’16 at Glen Helen (Am-only, C tier), Glen Helen Regional Park, Devore – Sat May 7 2016. Two rounds at this scenic San Bernardino County park, home of many historic music festivals.  Generous Innova players pack for all. July:

Battle of the 210 – Presented by Innova Champion (C-tier), Veterans memorial Park, Sylmar; Oak Grove Regional Park, Pasadena; Verdugo Hills Golf Course, Verdugo Hills – Sat, July 2, 2016. 3 rounds 3 courses 1 Day PDGA/SoCal C tier.  All Ams will receive stamped tourney discs.  Big Raffle as well. Conejo Disc Golf Pro/Am (C-tier), Rabbit Flats DGC, Thousand Oaks – Sun, July 3, 2016. Round one will be the yellow baskets and 9 temp holes, round 2 will be the blue baskets and the 9 temp holes. There will be some changes to the temp holes from years past.  For Am divisions, we will focus on a very nice players pac rather than prizes, (but there will be some, as well as Halili trophies).  Although there will be some long holes, the overall flavor of this tourney is one that puts a premium on precision and accuracy. TD – Chuck Borquez/Mike Byrne (discfever@aol.com, 805-338-4921 ) Registration flyer not yet available. Santa Maria Open (B-tier), Waller Park, Santa Maria – Sat/Sun, July 30/31, 2016.  This years tournament is a very special one. We will be celebrating the 20th Anniversary of disc golf in Waller Park! Therefore, we are going to go big! We will be playing one round of 30 holes each day with tee times being assigned. BBQ lunches will be served on both Saturday and Sunday. August:

Oak Grove 42nd Anniversary Bash (XB-tier), Oak Grove Regional Park, Pasadena – Fri/Sat/Sun, Aug. 19/20/21, 2016 – ***Event schedule has changed due to popular demand***:  We are celebrating 40 years of disc golf with a 2 day, 3 round PDGA B disc golf tournament. Each round will represent The past, present and future of Oak Grove. Shot gun start. Saturday 8/20 Day 1, Round 1 – Vintage layout with no disc restrictions. Day1, Round 2 – Will Be in the OG normal Long Position. Day 2, Round 3 will be a slightly modified OG layout that we are proposing to the city. Temecula Valley Classic (B-tier), Mountain Pride Park, Murietta – Sat (Pros & MA1)/Sun (All other Ams), Sept. 24/25, 2016 – Everyone will be playing a 2/round 1-day PRO layout with OB, island greens, and obstacles which will add additional levels of difficulty to an already difficult course. We will showcase one of Southern California’s highest rated courses.
