Day 1 results
The format is match play singles and doubles. Basically, 2 players from NorCal and 2 players from SoCal get paired up to battle for a potential 4 points per day. You play 18 holes of singles (1 NorCal vs 1 Socal) and immediately roll into doubles (both NorCal vs both SoCal players. Winning the singles will earn your team 1 point and winning doubles will earn 2 points for your team. In addition, a tie in singles earns 1/2 point for each team and a tie in doubles earns 1 point for each team.
Historically, NorCal has destroyed SoCal. This year, however, SoCal showed up ready to compete and win. We put in our work on Saturday and finished the day with a 4 point lead over NorCal. Saturday night we typically meet up at Atari-Ya for a great party and the best sushi around. It’s truly a great night but you must watch out for Mr. Lawrence Halili who has the huge bottle of saki going around! Sunday morning team captains have the option to shuffle teams and opponents, and redo the cards. On Sunday, NorCal beat SoCal by 1 point and SoCal won by 3 points overall!
Justin Lieberman and company put on a traditional Tri-Tip BBQ for the players on Sunday afternoon and we enjoyed the great food while discussing how we played and enjoyed great company while scores were being tallied.

Team Captains
It was truly an awesome moment when Travers picked up the “Bucket” and announced, “It’s Official” and proceeded to hand the bucket to SoCal team captain Mike Byrne. The SoCal team was excited and many pictures were taken to save the memories forever.
Waller Pines DGC and crew were great hosts and we thank them for all their work and efforts.
If you want to play next year, sign up for SoCal tournaments and start earning your points. We hope to see you out there next year helping SoCal defend out title!
