/ January 23, 2012Are there opportunities for young girls playing FJ4 to compete in Socal Disc Golf events?
socaldg
/ January 25, 2012The divisions that are offered in each tournament are at the discretion of the event’s Tournament Director, so your best bet is to contact the TD of an event you are interested in. SoCal would like to see more junior girls playing disc golf, so we encourage you to contact some TDs. And bring friends!

/ February 11, 2012How do I get emails on tournament around so cal disc golf? Please let me know.

/ February 13, 2012Hi Thomas,
SoCal Disc Golf Association does not send out e-mails announcing tournaments, but we do have tournament information available on our website. Go to socaldiscgolf.org and click on the “Upcoming Events” link at the top of the page. Out events page lists all of the SoCal Series events that have been approved by the PDGA. There will be TD phone numbers, e-mails, links to flyers and links to online registration pages, as long as the TD has provided them to us. There’s also a lot of tournament chatter on the SoCal Disc Golf Association Facebook page.

/ February 13, 2012who do i contact about the points?
socaldg
/ February 15, 2012Hi Bryson,
What is your points question? Based on the question it might go to different people.
Bryson williams
/ February 17, 2012Do you have to play in the same division every tourney? And in ams so only top 4 get points? Also, how do I find out my number if I signed up for socal at the wintertime open am?
socaldg
/ February 17, 2012You can play in different divisions at different tournaments, but the points you earn only count towards the division you played in. So if you play in tournament A as Advanced and earn 10 points and play Intermediate in tournament B, you don’t have 15 total points, you have ten points toward the Advanced title and five towards Intermediate. It’s better to pick one division and stay in it for the year.
Every SoCal player who plays in an event gets points. The “four finishes” you mention means that if you play in 6 tournaments, only *your* best four point totals from those 6 tournaments count.
Keep checking the SoCal membership list posted on this website. There’s a link to it on the “How to Join” page. It gets updated every few weeks.

/ July 2, 2012Hey guys,
Just wanted to see if you would write a post reminding everyone in SoCal to please vote in the ongoing PDGA board election. I myself am running for one of the 3 positions and would love the support of our community, but most of all it’s important that we all become more active in our “disc golf government,” to grow our sport as a team.
Thanks,
Logan Turner

/ August 30, 2012I won the Pro/Am Fling XVI (C-tier), Chavez Ridge DGC 20212 but I didn’t get the points in the Socal series update. Miguel Hopper, Socal member 909.

/ September 2, 2012Hi Miguel – we’ll get that fixed in our next update. Are there any other that we’re missed? In the future, if you can sign up for tourneys as “Miguel” instead of Michael, our program won’t make that mistake. It searches for the name that’s listed on the SoCal database, which is Miguel. Thanks!
